DDE-BIFTOOL v. 2.03
The version number of the package can be obtained
by calling the function biftool from within Matlab.
Versions 1.01, 1.02, 2.00, 2.02 and 2.03 feature the following improvements:
- Removal of the bugs and problems found in previous versions. See
here
for a description.
- A very useful Mathematica program
genr_sys.mth
written by D. Pieroux
now allows automatic
generation of the system definition files (including the derivatives
obtained analytically within Mathematica)!
- A more efficient Floquet multiplier calculation routine.
- A
second and more extended demonstration example. However, the
calculations
in this demo have been found to be quite sensitive and hence, results
can differ for
different versions of Matlab. I am currently working on a new version
which avoids these problems. In particular, this demo does not always
run to completion.
Version 1.02, 2.00, 2.02 and 2.03 feature the following improvements:
- Compatibility with Matlab 6.
- A
br_refin routine that allows to refine branches
by clicking on the mouse button! Type help br_refin in Matlab to find
out how to use this function.
Versions 2.00, 2.02 and 2.03 feature the following improvements:
- The possibility to analyse systems with a finite number of discrete, state-dependent delays.
- The computation of connecting orbits (both homoclinic and heteroclinic solutions).
Versions 2.02 and 2.03 features the following improvements:
- The possibility to generate starting points for branch switching
of branching bifurcations (transcritical, pitchfork)
for steady state solutions and periodic solutions
(type
help p_tostst or help p_to_psol to get help
on those functions).
- The possibility to generate starting values for heteroclinic solutions as well (next to homoclinic solutions).
Type
help p_tohcli to find a description.
Version 2.03 features the following improvement:
The computation of the right-most
characteristic roots of steady state points using a new steplength heuristic
(including the use of the linear multistep methods of maximal order).
Note that Versions 1.01, 1.02, 2.00, 2.02 and 2.03 are completely compatible with Version 1.00. (Note also that the manual was updated for version 2.00. It can be found here. Additionally, an addendum was written to describe the new functionality in DDE-BIFTOOL v. 2.03 compared to the previous version, DDE-BIFTOOL v. 2.02.)
Extensions:
- Didier Pieroux
wrote a very useful Mathematica program
which allows automatic generation of the system definition files
(including the derivatives obtained analytically within Mathematica).
This program is included as
genr_sys.mth.
